Code of Conduct
for Non-Rowers
for Non-Rowers
The primary role of Marlborough Boys’ College Rowing is to promote a healthy, competitive rowing environment while maintaining opportunities for all rowers to participate in the sport. We do this by encouraging an appreciation for teamwork, discipline, respect, fitness, and self-worth.
This Code of Conduct applies to all MBC Rowing Club management, coaches, parents/guardians, volunteers, and any persons participating in or connected to MBC Rowing activities.
This Code outlines your rights and responsibilities, whatever your role. Rowing is a team sport that requires everyone (rowers, coaches, parents, volunteers and supporters) to focus on the preparation and competition that comes with the sport, and to ensure that their conduct does not inhibit the performance or enjoyment of others, or bring the Club into disrepute.
A separate document, ‘Code of Conduct – Rowers & Coxswains’, sets out the expectations for all rowers and coxswains.
Parents and guardians are vital volunteers within our rowing programme, and the Club thanks you for the time and effort you contribute to supporting MBC Rowing. We appreciate your help and support at regattas and camps, as well as your involvement in ensuring best practice policies are followed.
