I began my rowing journey in 2015 through the Marlborough Boys’ College program. Spending many of my mornings and afternoons on the Wairau to only know it no other than my home. In 2019, I transitioned to Christchurch Boys High School and had my most successful season, winning both the Springbok Shield and Maadi Cup. Relocating back to Marlborough for work, I have always wanted to give back to the program and have since developed a passion for coaching and athlete development.
Kris began rowing in the 2015 Marlborough Boys’ College Program. Winning two gold medals in his first regatta at Twizel, Kris was well hooked into the excitement of the sport. Kris’s first two seasons resulted in two silver medals at the Maadi Cup in the U15 and U16 Quad. Plagued by a back injury, Kris finished rowing in 2019 when he finished College as a year 13. Kris moved to Lincoln University to complete a bachelor’s degree in Viticulture and Oenology, and on coming back to the region in 2023, he has returned to the Club as a coach.
